Define 'Structured Finance'

Take a trip to gobbledegook-land. I can read most legal documents but financial documents, especially when we enter the realm of never-neverland financing, is an exercise in double-speak. If this stuff were translated into simple English, would it make sense? Or would we get out the tar and feathers? I’m guessing we’re not meant to understand it. I’m guessing this stuff is supposed to be dust in our eyes.
